Lodi Historical Society Invites the Public to an Open House Celebrating the Restoration of Lodi’s Original City Hall & Firehouse

LODI, Calif. – The Lodi Historical Society will host a public open house showcasing the ongoing restoration of Lodi's original City Hall and Firehouse on Sunday, October 18, from noon to 5:00pm at 114 N. Main St. Community members can tour the building and get a first-hand look at the preservation progress.

The event offers residents and history enthusiasts a rare opportunity to step inside Lodi’s first municipal building, constructed in 1912 for $3,995, which served as Lodi City Hall until 1928 and continued as the Firehouse until it was decommissioned in 1981. Guests will be able to tour the space and learn about the building's role in Lodi's early civic history, as well as the efforts underway to protect it for future generations.

The City Hall and Firehouse Restoration Project reflects the Lodi Historical Society's ongoing commitment to preserving the city's history and cultural heritage. The open house is free and open to the public, with no registration required.

"We’re so excited to share the building’s progress with the public and have a chance to showcase all the hard work and volunteer hours that have gone into restoring this important part of Lodi’s history. The City Hall & Firehouse Restoration Project has been 100% community-funded and we are constantly overwhelmed by the support and enthusiasm it’s received. As the home of the future Lodi History Museum, we’re looking forward to sharing this building with the public for many years to come.” – Bailey Caswell, Director of the Lodi Historical Society.
